Heather Nirenberg

Heather Nirenberg is dedicated to ensuring her clients walk away with a profound curiosity and unconditional positive regard for themselves, which she fosters in each session. Through the compassionate process of untangling trauma while reinforcing strengths and resources, she helps clients recalibrate their internal compass towards joy, intention, and self-compassion. Racial-justice oriented, Heather employs a trauma-informed, Feminist, and Relational Cultural approach to client conceptualization. With credentials as a National Certified Counselor and specialized training in EMDR under Rick Levinson, LCSW, she ensures her practice is built on robust expertise. Heather completed her Master of Arts in Counseling at Saint Edwards University and gained invaluable experience during her pre-graduation internship at the YWCA Greater Austin, where she provided mental health services to individuals in crisis and trauma. Emphasizing a collaborative therapeutic relationship, Heather values the client as the ultimate expert on their own lives and healing. As an LGBTQ+ ally, she conceptualizes all bodies through the Health at Every Size (HAES) model and is committed to continuous learning from the rich experiences of her clients.
