Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Amarillo, TX, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children at risk for nutrition-related health issues. Our mission centers on empowering mothers with vital nutrition education, offering personalized counseling and engaging classes, including specialized sessions for children and support for fathers. WIC offers invaluable breastfeeding assistance, including free breast pumps, and provides essential nutritious foods each month, such as iron-fortified formula, cereal, milk, and fresh fruits and vegetables. In addition to food assistance, we connect clients with critical health and social services, ensuring comprehensive support for families. Eligibility criteria include low income households and nutritional risk assessments, making our services accessible to those who need them most.
