Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Allen, TX, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of vulnerable families, including pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and young children at risk for nutrition-related health issues. Our mission is rooted in empowering mothers with essential knowledge about proper nutrition, providing individualized counseling, and offering engaging classes tailored to the needs of families. We are proud to offer comprehensive breastfeeding support, including educational resources and free breast pumps to facilitate successful breastfeeding experiences. Clients benefit from our monthly food assistance program, which includes nutritious items such as iron-fortified formula, cereal, and fresh fruits and vegetables, helping to ensure that all little ones get the best start in life. WIC also connects families with valuable referrals to additional health and social services. To be eligible, applicants must meet certain income guidelines and demonstrate nutritional risk; participation is open to mothers and guardians of children under age five. In-person applications are required, and we encourage those eligible to reach out and schedule a visit with us to access these vital resources.
