Roger Russell

Dr. Roger Russell, a seasoned psychologist with a PhD and LSSP credentials, is a valued member of the Turning Point Counseling team, collaborating alongside 11 other dedicated clinicians. With a wealth of experience in psychological testing, Dr. Russell primarily focuses on children aged 3-18, as well as adults of all ages. Many of his child and adolescent clients are referred for assessments related to ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, or various Mood Disorders, including Bipolar Disorder. For adult clients, he carries out similar psychological evaluations, having screened over 2,000 individuals required to undergo psychological assessments prior to weight loss surgery or for pain management procedures such as spinal cord stimulators or pain pumps. Dr. Russell has been in private practice since 1988, bringing a rich background that includes serving in the USAF, counseling roles at Texas A&M University and the University of Oklahoma, as well as positions at the Betty Hardwick Center and within public schools. Additionally, he has taught for 23 years at three universities and is licensed as a psychologist, school psychologist, and marriage & family therapist. Since 1995, Dr. Russell has continued his commitment to community service as a psychological consultant for the Regional Crime Victims Crisis Center and the Ministry of Counseling in Abilene.
