Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Abilene, TX US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Abilene, TX, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food system advocates and educators through comprehensive, hands-on training that emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our fellowship program, which does not charge tuition to ensure inclusivity, equips selected Fellows with practical experience in organic food system education, enabling them to grow and distribute diversified crops, maintain community gardens, and foster ecological literacy in educational settings. During their six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in experiential learning, and afterward embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profits to implement innovative health care education, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy food in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year for a transformative experience that runs from May to October, empowering individuals to drive change in their local food systems.
