The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program in Shelbyville, TN, aims to foster healthier food choices among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Our mission focuses on providing essential nutrition education, supplemental foods, and breastfeeding support while ensuring access to healthcare referrals. We also proudly participate in the WIC Farmer's Market Nutrition Program, which connects participants with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables across multiple counties, including Coffee, Hickman, and Rutherford. In response to COVID-19, we have adapted our services to offer support over the phone, increasing the variety of food options available to our participants and expanding the range of allowable WIC purchases.
