Located in Portland, TN, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders committed to creating a fair, sustainable, and resilient food system. This hands-on program provides an immersive six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, where selected Fellows receive extensive organic food system education and training at no cost, ensuring accessibility for all. Our Fellows engage in meaningful work that includes growing and distributing diverse crops, running community gardens, and implementing educational initiatives focused on food and ecological literacy. They also support local farmers markets, mentor future leaders, and collaborate with regional non-profits to improve access to healthy foods. The Fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, empowering participants to apply their skills and knowledge to drive impactful change in their communities. Applications are welcomed yearly, with a submission deadline of March, and the program runs from May to October.
