The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program in Madisonville, TN, dedicatedly supports low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, along with infants and children from birth to five years. Our mission is to promote healthy eating habits by offering nutrition education, supplemental foods, and breastfeeding promotion and support. We also provide vital referrals for health care services. Through the WIC Farmer's Market Nutrition Program, we bring fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables to our participants across several counties, including Coffee, Hickman, Knox, Lincoln, Madison, Maury, Moore, Rutherford, and Sullivan. As we adapt to the ongoing challenges of Covid-19, our services are currently available by phone to ensure safety and accessibility, with an expanded range of food items to enhance choices for participants. Our commitment is to foster a healthier future for families in our community by making nutritious food assistance readily accessible.
