Located in Hixson, TN, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program is dedicated to supporting low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, along with infants and children up to five years old. Our mission is to empower families through nutrition education, provide supplemental foods, promote breastfeeding, and facilitate health care referrals. We also participate in the WIC Farmer's Market Nutrition Program, offering fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables to enhance the diets of our participants across multiple counties, including Coffee, Hickman, Knox, Lincoln, Madison, Maury, Moore, Rutherford, and Sullivan. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our services have adapted to offer assistance over the phone, ensuring that families continue to receive the support they need. We have expanded the variety of food items available for purchase with WIC benefits, allowing for greater choice and nutrition. By focusing on healthy food habits, we strive to empower families and promote lifelong wellness.
