The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program in Hendersonville, TN, is dedicated to fostering healthy eating habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. WIC offers vital services including nutrition education, supplemental food assistance, breastfeeding support, and referrals for essential health care needs. Our program also emphasizes local produce through participation in the WIC Farmer's Market Nutrition Program, providing access to fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables in surrounding counties such as Coffee, Hickman, Knox, and others. In light of COVID-19, we are currently delivering services via phone to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our participants while broadening the range of available food options.
