The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Brownsville, TN, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive training and hands-on education, our Fellows learn to champion social, environmental, and economic justice in agriculture. We offer a unique, tuition-free program that emphasizes accessibility, enabling participants to engage in organic food system practices. Fellows collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative educational initiatives in healthcare, maintain community and school gardens, and integrate food literacy into educational settings. They also play a vital role in supporting farmers markets and enhancing access to healthy foods through strategic distribution channels. Over a six-month immersive experience at our farm campus, followed by a year of applying their skills in community-based nonprofit organizations, our Fellows gain invaluable practical knowledge while fostering relationships that strengthen regional food coalitions. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship typically running from May to October each year.
