Joel Sperling

Joel Sperling is a Licensed Professional Counselor (MS, LPC) dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and their families achieve their full potential. He understands that meeting a child’s needs goes beyond academic success; it encompasses their social and emotional wellbeing as well. The pressures of school can often induce anxiety and lower self-esteem in young learners. Through his expertise in Cognitive Behavioral techniques and play therapy, Joel empowers students of all ages to take pride in their achievements and navigate obstacles with resilience. His journey into counseling was inspired by his passion for working with youth, prompting him to earn his Master's in Counseling after a decade in the business sector. Joel currently serves as a school counselor, where he encounters the various difficulties faced by today’s students and families. In addition to his role as a School Counselor, he also works as a Behavior Specialist and Mobile Therapist for BHRS. During the summer, he takes on the role of Assistant Director at a camp focused on enhancing social skills for children and adolescents. Furthermore, Joel offers valuable guidance to parents navigating their child's Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 plans, ensuring comprehensive support for their educational needs.
