Fresh Food Farmacy

Located in Scranton, PA, the Fresh Food Farmacy is dedicated to providing food assistance and health education to individuals who struggle with food insecurity and dietary health. By offering nutritious foods and empowering participants to take control of their health through informed food choices, we focus on fostering positive lifestyle changes. Individuals identified with HBA1C levels greater than 8 receive a referral from their primary care physician to participate in our program. Once enrolled, participants benefit from clinical interventions tailored to manage their medical conditions, including diabetes education, consultations with dietitians and pharmacists, and comprehensive care management. Each week, families receive enough healthy ingredients to prepare two meals a day for five days, ensuring they have access to nutritious food. While we are currently not enrolling new patients or providing tours due to COVID-19 precautions, we remain committed to supporting our community and improving overall health through better food access.
