Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Pittston, PA, nurtures and empowers individuals passionate about creating a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic well-being. Our program, hosted by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, offers hands-on training without any tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all applicants. During this six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in organic food system education and practical experiences, such as growing diversified crops on a market-style farm, implementing health-focused educational sessions, and managing community gardens. Following their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to enhance food access, support farmers markets, and foster food literacy within local communities. Interested individuals should apply by March for the May to October program, making a meaningful impact in their communities while advocating for healthy, sustainable food systems.
