Wendell Scanterbury

Dr. Wendell Scanterbury is a dedicated Marriage and Family Therapist who excels in supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate various life challenges and relationship difficulties. With a wealth of experience, he skillfully addresses issues such as strained partnerships, anxiety and depression, grief, phobias, chronic illness, and diminished self-esteem. His clinical experience is enriched by years of working with individuals affected by cancer, those processing grief, vulnerable youth, and families facing separation. Dr. Scanterbury employs an integrative approach to therapy, including Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Prepare/Enrich program, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and biofeedback techniques. As a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist, he shows a profound commitment to individuals and families experiencing various types of loss, including the significant challenges surrounding end-of-life situations. Dr. Scanterbury holds a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy and is recognized as a Pre-Clinical Fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), as well as an active member of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS) and the Black Doctoral Network (BDN).
