The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Hazleton, PA, nurtures passionate individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our immersive program at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, we provide comprehensive organic food system education without tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring change-makers. Our Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating educational initiatives for innovative health care, and fostering school and community gardens. Additionally, they learn to incorporate food and ecological literacy into educational settings, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods through strategic distribution channels. After six transformational months of learning, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to implement their training and continue advocating for sustainable food practices. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
