Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Erie, PA, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in sustainable food practices through comprehensive training and hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. This fellowship empowers individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice, all without tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all applicants. Selected Fellows engage in a six-month immersive program focused on organic food system education, where they gain practical skills in diversified crop production, community gardens, and innovative health education workshops. They collaborate with local non-profits to enhance access to healthy foods, support farmers markets, and promote food literacy in schools. Following this foundational experience, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, putting their knowledge into practice and making a tangible impact on food systems in their communities. Applications are encouraged by March each year to join this transformative journey from May to October.
