The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in East Stroudsburg, PA, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a unique program at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, selected Fellows engage in a six-month intensive learning experience without tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all. The Fellowship provides comprehensive education in organic food systems, enabling Fellows to grow and distribute diverse crops, teach food and ecological literacy, maintain community gardens, and support farmers markets. After completing their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to implement their knowledge and further enhance food access and education in the region. Applications are accepted each year until March, with the immersive experiences running from May to October.
