Dr. Karin Murphy is a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in helping adult women and men navigate the complexities of grief and feeling stuck. Whether dealing with the death of a loved one, including cherished pets, or facing living losses tied to dementia, addiction, chronic illness, divorce, infertility, or other significant life transitions, she partners with individuals to explore their emotions profoundly. Dr. Murphy emphasizes that there is no right way to grieve and no predictable timeline for healing. She is dedicated to creating a space where clients feel supported, safe, and accepted throughout their journey. Utilizing a blend of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Eclectic, Existential, Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, and Strength-Based modalities, she offers guidance through both individual and group sessions. With experience in teletherapy and in-person appointments, Dr. Murphy understands that the feelings of sadness, depression, anxiety, confusion, or numbness can feel overwhelming after a loss. She provides compassionate, nonjudgmental support to help clients navigate these conflicting emotions.
