Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Allegheny Mountain Institute's Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cranberry Township, PA, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. By offering comprehensive, tuition-free training, this program empowers selected Fellows to engage in hands-on education and advocacy that promotes social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems. Over a transformative six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows delve into organic food system education and learn critical skills in diversified crop cultivation, community gardening, and ecological literacy integration within educational settings. They also play a vital role in supporting farmers markets, enhancing access to healthy foods, and collaborating with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year. Applications for this impactful Fellowship are accepted until March of each application year, providing a unique opportunity to create meaningful change in local food systems from May to October.
