Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Carlisle, PA, is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system by training and empowering individuals to become advocates and educators. Over a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, selected Fellows engage in comprehensive organic food system education. This hands-on program promotes accessibility, with no tuition fees required, ensuring that all passionate individuals can participate. Fellows work collaboratively with local partners to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement community health education, maintain gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy in educational settings. By participating in farmers markets and developing crucial distribution channels, the Fellowship enhances access to nutritious foods and supports community food initiatives. Following their training, chosen Fellows further apply their expertise during a Community Action Year with regional non-profit organizations, reinforcing the impact of their mission in promoting a healthy and equitable food landscape.
