Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bloomsburg, PA, empowers individuals to become change-makers in creating a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. This hands-on program offers comprehensive organic food system education and is committed to accessibility by charging no tuition for participation. Through this fellowship, participants engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and advocating for food and ecological literacy within schools. Furthermore, they play a crucial role in supporting farmers markets, developing distribution channels for healthy foods, and collaborating with community food coalitions. Over the course of six months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows gain practical experience, culminating in a Community Action Year where they apply their skills through regional non-profit partnerships. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October.
