ElderShare, a dedicated initiative of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, serves seniors aged 60 and older in Altoona, PA, providing vital food assistance through a monthly box tailored to meet their nutritional needs. Designed specifically for those whose household income falls below set guidelines, this program ensures that older adults have access to essential food items, supporting their well-being and independence. ElderShare is complementary to other food programs, albeit excluding those already benefiting from the USDA's Commodity Supplemental Food Program. To participate, seniors must complete a registration form and visit one of our partner agencies to sign up and receive their food box, ensuring that no senior faces food insecurity alone in our community.
