Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ponca City, OK, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program empowers selected Fellows through hands-on organic food system education at the scenic Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. Our Fellowship offers a tuition-free experience to ensure accessibility for all passionate individuals. Over six months, Fellows engage in practical training that includes growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing innovative health care education, and maintaining community gardens. They will learn to integrate food and ecological literacy into schools and support local farmers' markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. Following their training, each Fellow dedicates a year to applying their knowledge through partnerships with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
