At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Madill, OK, we are dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Our fellowship program trains participants through hands-on experiences in organic farming and community engagement, fostering a deep understanding of the social, environmental, and economic dimensions of food systems. We believe in making our education accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition. Throughout the fellowship, participants will have the opportunity to grow diverse crops, conduct health-focused educational sessions, maintain gardens, and promote food literacy in schools. Fellows also engage with local farmers markets and support initiatives that improve access to healthy foods. After an immersive six-month training at our Farm Campus, they embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement their learning. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, creating a continuous cycle of knowledge sharing and community support.
