The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Durant, OK, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on education at the Allegheny Farm, our Fellows actively engage in organic food system education, working on initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, maintaining community gardens, and implementing innovative health care educational sessions. We facilitate a connection between food and ecological literacy within schools and support local farmers markets, ensuring increased access to healthy foods across the region. Our unique program includes a six-month residential training followed by a Community Action Year, allowing Fellows to apply their skills in collaboration with local non-profit organizations. We are committed to promoting accessibility in our Fellowship and do not charge tuition, welcoming passionate individuals eager to make a difference in the food landscape. Applications are accepted until March each year for opportunities running from May to October.
