Monica Birsen is a highly skilled counselor, holding a Master’s degree and the credentials of LPCC-S. A proud graduate of Bowling Green State University in 2000, she brings over two decades of experience to her practice. Monica is passionate about supporting individuals at all stages of life, from preteens to elders, navigating challenges such as depression, trauma, and PTSD. Her therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive and draws upon a wide array of methods, including trauma-focused therapy, positive psychology, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She is committed to helping her clients find practical solutions in their lives while fostering a stable, trusting environment. Whether working with individuals, couples, or groups, Monica’s warmth and empathetic approach make her a trusted ally on the journey to healing and self-discovery.

With a Master's Degree and a PhD in Biblical Counseling accredited by a Christian Accreditation organization, she specializes in Christian-based counseling and is passionate about working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Cunningham serves adults and elders (65+) while addressing top issues like mood disorders, thinking disorders, and spirituality. She draws on her expertise in various therapy types, including Trauma Focused therapy, Family/Marital counseling, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
