Melissa Miller is a dedicated Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor, holding both a Master’s degree in social work from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s degree in social work from Cleveland State University. With extensive experience in individual and group therapy across community mental health and forensic social work, Melissa has worked with a diverse range of client populations, including adults facing challenges such as incarceration, substance use, and religious trauma. Specializing in areas like trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, substance use disorders, life transitions, and relationship issues, she employs a trauma-informed care approach. Melissa prioritizes personalized treatment plans and draws on evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Upholding values of inclusivity, she is sex-positive, body positive, and affirming of LGBTQIA+ identities, with expertise in working with clients who practice ethical non-monogamy.
