The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Watertown, NY, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship offers a transformative, no-cost training experience focused on organic food system education. Participants gain hands-on experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, conducting innovative health care educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into school programs. Furthermore, Fellows will support farmers markets, develop channels for health food access, and engage in community food coalition activities. Through six months of immersive learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, selected individuals will implement their skills in collaboration with local non-profits. Applications are welcome until March each year, with the program running from May to October, fostering a passionate group of future food leaders.
