Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Rome, NY US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Rome, NY, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. This transformative program sponsors, trains, and empowers Fellows to become advocates for an equitable food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. With no tuition fees, we promote accessibility to our Fellowship, which includes comprehensive education on organic food systems and hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm. Fellows engage in a diverse range of activities, from cultivating diversified crops on market-style farms to implementing innovative healthcare educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. Throughout the Fellowship, participants also support farmers markets and community coalitions, ensuring increased access to healthy foods in their regions. After an enriching six-month residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills alongside local non-profits to make a lasting impact. Interested candidates should submit their applications by March for opportunities beginning in May.
