Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Plattsburgh, NY, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive training and hands-on experience, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education, promoting social, environmental, and economic justice in their communities. The fellowship provides participants with the opportunity to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-related educational sessions, and maintain community gardens. By integrating food and ecological literacy into school activities and supporting local farmers markets, Fellows help to enhance access to healthy foods while supporting community initiatives. Over the course of their six-month immersive experience, followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and make a meaningful impact. Applications are due by March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, ensuring accessibility to this vital training without the burden of tuition.
