The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Oswego, NY, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food systems. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers selected Fellows through hands-on training, where they become advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. With no tuition fees, we ensure that our program is accessible to all dedicated individuals. During the six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows engage in organic food system education, develop community partnerships, grow and distribute diverse crops, support farmers markets, and enhance food literacy in various educational settings. Following this, they embark on a Community Action Year to implement their knowledge practically with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are welcome until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October, fostering a vibrant network of committed advocates for healthy food access and ecological sustainability.
