Cesar Espineda, PhD, BCETS, began his practice in the aftermath of the tragedy of 9/11 in Manhattan, New York City. Since that pivotal moment, he has dedicated his career to supporting individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, grief, stress, suicidal ideation, and trauma. The Covid-19 pandemic has further underscored the critical importance of mental health, prompting Cesar to advocate for its place in daily life. In the past year, he has encountered heightened expressions of existential distress, including feelings of abandonment, anger, depression, food insecurity, identity confusion, isolation, guilt, loss, helplessness, hopelessness, toxic relationships, safety concerns, shame, and self-esteem struggles. Cesar's extensive training in mental health care, pastoral-spiritual counseling, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and group supervision has equipped him with a diverse skill set tailored to address these complex issues. His immersive experiences across Australia, New Zealand, Western and American Samoa, Japan, and the Philippines have enriched his understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity. Having supported 9/11 survivors and attended to a family member lost to Covid-19, Cesar recognizes the profound emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual toll that pain and suffering can inflict on overall well-being. He is ready to journey alongside individuals, binding wounds with passion, compassion, non-possessive empathy, and an unyielding curiosity, all grounded in a non-judgmental approach.
