Women, Infants, Children (WIC)

Women, Infants, Children (WIC) is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five in Fairport, NY. Through our Special Supplemental Nutrition Program, we provide vital nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and access to essential nutritious foods that improve overall well-being and address nutrient deficiencies often present in the diets of women and young children. Our program empowers participants to achieve longer and healthier pregnancies while reducing the risk of premature births. Eligibility for WIC includes being a pregnant woman, an infant or child under five, or a mother of an infant under six months or breastfeeding a child under twelve months, without the requirement of U.S. citizenship. To join, applicants must meet income guidelines, receive benefits from assistance programs like SNAP or Medicaid, and undergo a brief assessment. We invite new families to visit our office prepared with necessary documentation such as proof of identity, residency, income, and immunization records to begin their journey towards better health.
