In Elmont, NY, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program provides essential food assistance and comprehensive support to low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up to five years old. Our mission is to enhance the health and nutrition of our participants through tailored nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and access to nutritious foods that are vital for healthy development. WIC aims to empower women by ensuring longer, healthier pregnancies and reducing the risks of premature births, all while offering community-based resources that help families thrive. To participate, individuals must meet certain eligibility criteria, including residency in New York State and income guidelines, among others.
