Harvest to Haven is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to families facing hunger in Elmhurst, NY. By procuring surplus crops from local farmers, we focus on delivering critical nutrition to those experiencing food insecurity, especially during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic. Our mission centers on compassion and practicality, ensuring that individuals and families receive the support they need. We host weekly food distribution events at our East Side House Settlement community centers, where attendees can collect food packages on a first-come, first-served basis, with one package allowed per family. We encourage participants to bring their own bags or carts and remind everyone to wear a mask to keep our community safe. Together, we’re transforming surplus food into hope for our neighbors in need.
