The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Binghamton, NY, is dedicated to cultivating advocates for a just and sustainable food system. We empower our Fellows through comprehensive training and hands-on experience, focusing on practices that promote social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. Our program features a six-month residential experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, where Fellows engage in organic food system education and work directly with community partners. Activities include growing diverse crops, running educational sessions on health, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational curricula. Additionally, Fellows develop healthier food access initiatives, support farmers markets, and mentor future cohorts. We believe in inclusivity and accessibility, which is why we do not charge tuition for participation. Applications are accepted until March each year, and the fellowship runs from May to October, providing Fellows with the opportunity to make a tangible impact in their communities.
