Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Auburn, NY US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Auburn, NY, passionately guides individuals to become champions of a food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental health, and economic viability. Offered at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, this fellowship is dedicated to making education accessible by waiving tuition fees. Our program immerses selected Fellows in organic food system education, equipping them with the skills needed to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-focused educational initiatives, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings. With opportunities to support farmers markets, develop distribution channels for healthy foods, and foster community food coalitions, the Fellowship empowers participants to make meaningful contributions through a six-month experiential learning journey, followed by a transformative Community Action Year in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences typically running from May to October.
