Food & Basic Assistance

In the heart of Jersey City, NJ, Food & Basic Assistance is dedicated to alleviating hunger and providing essential resources to individuals and families facing food emergencies. Our organization proudly offers a variety of free food assistance options, including weekly Client Choice Walk-In Food Pantries where clients can select from a range of refrigerated, frozen, and non-perishable items. For those unable to visit in person, we provide a convenient Virtual Food Pantry with online ordering for homebound clients. Additionally, we distribute mixed produce bags and prepared meal programs periodically, as well as supermarket gift cards and essential supplies such as diapers and period products for registered food clients. Each November, we host a Thanksgiving Distribution Program to ensure everyone has a chance to celebrate the holiday with a nourishing meal. We believe in making a tangible difference and providing immediate support to our community's most vulnerable members.
