Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative (BVMI) is dedicated to providing essential primary and preventive care for adults aged 18 and older in Fort Lee, NJ. Our mission is to support individuals through compassionate healthcare services that are accessible to those who qualify financially and medically. Every new patient begins their journey with a comprehensive blood workup that screens for diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid function, and HIV, alongside vital sign checks and urinalysis. Following these assessments, patients meet with a primary care physician for a thorough physical examination, allowing for personalized care plans that may include additional testing, medication, or referrals to specialists as needed. BVMI offers a range of services such as physical exams, sick visits, nutrition coaching, counseling, and specialized programs for women's health, diabetes care, and chronic disease management. To access our services, residents of Bergen County are required to provide proof of residency, household income, and their most recent federal tax return.
