Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bridgeton, NJ, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative fellowship offers full accessibility by eliminating tuition costs and includes six months of hands-on education at our Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA. Fellows engage in vital activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops on a market-style farm, facilitating educational sessions in innovative healthcare, maintaining community and school gardens, and enhancing food literacy in educational settings. Additionally, they support farmers markets, develop distribution channels for healthy foods, and mentor the next generation of fellows during their Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profit partners to implement their training. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, providing a unique opportunity for impactful community involvement.
