Howard Grotsky, EdD, is a dedicated psychologist who earned his Doctorate degree from the University of Virginia in 1973. Following his graduation, he and his family settled in Wilmington, NC, where he has built a robust private practice since 1981 and has become a vital member of the psychology community. Characterized by his sensitivity, compassion, and an active sense of humor, Howard understands that not every therapist is the right fit for every individual. He encourages prospective patients to experience 3-4 sessions with any counselor to ascertain a meaningful connection. His primary therapeutic approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), reflecting his commitment to effective treatment. Over the last twenty years, he has specialized in forensic psychology, focusing particularly on child custody and visitation matters, as well as divorce adjustment issues. Howard is well-prepared to provide expert testimony in complex family court cases, having played a significant role in introducing divorce mediation to the New Hanover County court system in the 90s.
