The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Rocky Mount, NC, provides aspiring advocates with the opportunity to acquire hands-on training in organic food systems, focusing on social, environmental, and economic justice. This transformative program is designed to empower Fellows to become teachers and leaders within their communities, promoting healthier food access and sustainable agricultural practices. Through a six-month experiential learning period at AMI’s Allegheny Farm, participants engage in practical activities such as growing and distributing diversified crops, maintaining community gardens, and conducting educational sessions on food and ecological literacy. Following their immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to put their knowledge into practice.
