Laura Kirby is a Licensed Psychological Associate and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, trained in understanding the academic, social, and emotional development of children and youth. A graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill's School Psychology program, Laura brings many years of experience as a school psychologist, having worked in local public schools and research settings at UNC Hospitals. She possesses a deep understanding of the special education eligibility process and is extensively trained in assessing children with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, giftedness, and behavior disorders. Laura conducts thorough evaluations for children and young adults whose families may have concerns about their learning and development, using a variety of assessment measures including cognitive (IQ), educational, behavioral/emotional, social, adaptive behavior, memory, observations, interviews, and developmental history. Families receive a written report detailing the evaluation results along with comprehensive recommendations.
