Dr. Cierra Barker is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Psychologist whose journey in psychology started with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies from Eastern Kentucky University. She has since earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the University of the Cumberlands. With a wealth of experience across various mental health environments, including forensic, correctional, and private practice settings, Dr. Barker specializes in areas such as Trauma/PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, LGBTQ+ issues, Adjustment, Burnout, Stress, Life Transitions, Women’s Issues, Grief, and Mood Disorders. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in interpersonal techniques tailored to the unique needs of each client, incorporating evidence-based practices like trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, cognitive processing, and traditional cognitive behavioral therapy. Dr. Barker is passionate about creating an environment where every client feels welcomed, supported, and truly heard. When not in her clinical practice, she cherishes spending quality time with her husband, Tim, and their border collie, Stanley. An avid fan of University of Kentucky Men’s College Basketball, Dr. Barker eagerly supports the Wildcats in every game, showcasing her spirited personality outside of therapy.
