Carolyn Lee is a seasoned Clinical Social Worker and Therapist with over 25 years of expertise in addressing trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, and self-injury. Her practice places a strong emphasis on women's mental health issues, including postpartum depression, infertility, and body image concerns. With an eclectic therapeutic approach, Carolyn integrates principles from psychodynamic therapy, sensorimotor techniques, and DBT skills to cater to the unique needs of her clients. She has shared her knowledge at ten conferences on self-injury and five on eating disorders, including esteemed presentations for Duke Grand Rounds, the UNC School of Social Work, AAPCSW, and NAMI. Carolyn's professional background includes experience in a general psychiatric inpatient unit and a specialized eating disorders unit, as well as running an eating disorders day program. She has dedicated six years to facilitating DBT groups at a respected mental health center. Academically, Carolyn contributes as a faculty member at the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas (PCC), serving as a clinical supervisor for psychodynamic psychotherapy candidates and participating actively on the PCC curriculum committee and speakers bureau. Currently, she also serves on PCC's Admissions Committee and is certified in psychodynamic psychotherapy, having taught a course on attachment theory at the center.
