LiveSTRONG at the YMCA in Monroe, NC, is dedicated to empowering cancer survivors on their journey to a healthier lifestyle. Our comprehensive program focuses on enhancing the overall well-being of participants through a holistic approach that nurtures spirit, mind, and body. Meeting twice a week, participants engage in a range of activities including cardiovascular workouts, strength training, and stretching, complemented by valuable group discussions and goal-setting sessions. The program features personalized guidance from certified trainers, access to all YMCA facilities and classes throughout the 12-week session, and an educational nutrition class led by a registered dietitian. Participants also receive a LiveSTRONG wristband, guidebook, planner, and journal to aid their journey. Best of all, this program is offered at no cost to participants, and there’s no YMCA membership requirement, making it accessible for all cancer survivors currently in treatment seeking support and community.
