Shafik Powell is a dedicated Clinical Social Worker and Therapist, holding an MSW with credentials as an LCSW. He has cultivated his expertise through education at North Carolina A&T State University and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, graduating in 2020. Shafik works with a diverse clientele, including preteens, teens, and adults, who face challenges such as depression, trauma, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and addiction. His therapeutic approach encompasses a variety of modalities, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Compassion Focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), among others. Shafik is passionate about providing culturally sensitive and trauma-focused care, ensuring that every individual feels valued and understood. He creates a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings openly, allowing them to express what they may have never shared before.
