With over 30 years as an EMDR therapist and 24 years dedicated to teaching, I have honed my skills to uniquely address personal and relational trauma. My extensive training in various therapy disciplines allows me to effectively support children, adults, and couples alike. In 2004, I was honored with the NCAMFT award for Outstanding Contributions in Marriage and Family Therapy. My passion for writing has led me to serve as a Relationship Columnist for the Western Carolina Parenting Magazine. With a seminary background, I am equipped to provide a faith-based perspective tailored to individuals from diverse spiritual backgrounds. I proudly hold the distinction of being the first EMDR Therapist and EMDR Consultant in WNC, actively participating as a trainer within the EMDR Institute and EMDRIA. Additionally, I am the Coordinator of the first EMDRIA Chapter in WNC. My practice is deeply committed to fostering marital and family harmony, evidenced by a divorce rate of less than 10% in couples therapy. For my younger clients, I utilize the latest in play therapy equipment to engage children who may initially resist therapy.
