The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sedalia, MO is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our unique program, which charges no tuition to enhance accessibility, offers a robust six-month residential experience at the Allegheny Farm, where Fellows receive hands-on organic food system education. Participants engage in a variety of community-focused initiatives, such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. By supporting local farmers' markets and fostering direct-to-consumer programs, our Fellows work alongside regional nonprofits to increase access to healthy foods, strengthen community food coalitions, and mentor the next generation of advocates. Applications are welcomed until March annually, with the program running from May to October, providing a unique opportunity for transformative learning and community impact.
